OSRUI serves over 1,000 campers annually. It is a summer home where our children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews are able to experience "living Judaism" in all aspects of their lives. OSRUI also hosts a wide variety of adult education programs, including Hava Nashira (Songleading), Lerhaus, Chagigat-Hilulim (Israeli Dance Workshop), Quilting Kallah, leadership retreats, and temple board retreats, as well as numerous other programs. Annually, the women of WRJ Midwest District gather at OSRUI for our very special Kallah and every other year for our Interim Board/Leadership Retreat.

Through the contributions of the Sisterhoods within our district, WRJ Midwest District has been able to assist with renovations and maintenance at camp. We have also been able to purchase much- needed items, including, but not limited to the renovation of sleeping rooms in the Bayit, installation of a new lodge kitchen, contributing $25,000 toward the construction of the new Dining Hall, an Aqua Jump for the water front and, of course, numerous copies of The Torah: A Women’s Commentary.

GUCI is a community. Campers and staff create and live in an atmosphere where it is cool to be Jewish. Jewish heritage, history and values are integral parts of the program. Through activities designed to help build friendships within cabin groups and grade-specific units, campers become a part of a greater Jewish community. That community lives on long after camp ends. Friends made at camp are friends all year long. The social and Jewish impact of camp can last a lifetime. Many campers return summer after summer. Many become staff members. The magic of GUCI is handed down from generation to generation.

Ranging in grades from elementary school through college, thousands of young people from across the Midwest have enjoyed the fun and camaraderie of a summer at Goldman Union Camp Institute. Campers are offered a wide variety of activity choices that allow them to
exercise their bodies and minds, challenge their creativity and enhance their Jewish identities. From sports & fitness, to the performing and creative arts; from nature activities, to outdoor, adventure programs, GUCI has something for everyone. A summer at GUCI is an unforgettable religious, cultural, recreational and social experience.

Each Sisterhood is asked to contribute at least $1.00 per member to WRJ Midwest District for our Camp Fund, designating either OSRUI or GUCI to receive their contribution. These contributions enable WRJ Midwest District to serve the camps that serve all of us so well. (Remember that camp contributions should be made only after other financial obligations to WRJ and WRJ Midwest District are met.)
